We’re seeking a Plant Supply Chain Manager who’s ready to be part of a people-first company offering best-in-class products, exceptional training, and deep industry pride—all built to help our partners and team succeed.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Supply Chain Manager is the strategic architect of the plant’s production flow, inventory network, and portfolio efficiency. This role owns the end-to-end planning process, from the Master Production Schedule (MPS) down to the daily tactical sequencing of the EPDM membrane and accessories lines. You will act as the "Voice of the Plant" to corporate stakeholders, advocating for complexity reduction and manageable NPI scale-ups. Simultaneously, you will drive a major consolidation of our external warehouse network to reduce costs. You serve as the critical bridge between commercial demand and operational capacity, ensuring we deliver on customer promises (OTIF) without breaking the manufacturing process.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
Strategic Planning & S&OP Leadership
- Own the Master Schedule (MPS): Translate sales forecasts into a viable long-term production plan. You are the decision-maker on capacity balancing between the Membrane and Accessories plants. •
- Lead the Supply Review: Serve as the primary lead for the plant's Supply Plan within the S&OP process. Identify capacity risks 3-6 months out and propose mitigation strategies.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with the Operations Manager and DC Manager to drive Schedule Adherence; You own the "Promise Date" to the customer.
Corporate Collaboration & Lifecycle Management
- Complexity Reduction: Act as a vocal proponent for the plant with Product Management and Corporate Supply Chain.
- Use data to highlight the operational cost of low-volume/high-complexity SKUs and advocate for portfolio rationalization.
- NPI Scale-Up: Manage the supply chain deliverables for New Product Introductions.
- Ensure new materials and capacity are staged correctly so that innovation does not disrupt core production.
External Network & Warehouse Optimization
- Offsite Portfolio Management: Own the operational relationship and performance of 5-6 external warehouses (overflow storage, external mixing/kitting).
- Consolidation Strategy: Lead the strategic initiative to consolidate this external footprint.
- Analyze storage utilization and shuttle costs to drive a roadmap for reducing offsite dependency and overhead spend.
- External Inventory Control: Serve as the owner for all inventory located offsite, ensuring monthly reconciliation and consumption tracking.
Production Control & Tactical Scheduling
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a Planning Supervisor and Planners. Empower them to own the daily tactical schedule while providing air cover during conflicts.
- Bottleneck Management: Orchestrate the complex scheduling of the Shared Mixing Resource.
- Balance the competing "rubber demand" of Membrane vs. Tape lines to ensure no downstream starvation.
- Authority of the Schedule: Serve as the final arbiter on scheduling decisions, prioritizing yield and demand over non-critical operational preferences.
Inventory Strategy & Material Flow
- WIP "Supermarket" Strategy: Define and enforce optimal Work-In-Progress (WIP) buffer levels between Mixing, Calendering, and Finishing.
- Procurement Interface: Establish the "Buy Signals" (Min/Max thresholds) that the Procurement team executes against.
- Inbound Operations: Manage the Receiving Manager to ensure efficient intake of bulk raw materials and packaging.
- Guardian of Accuracy: Own the inventory accuracy process for the entire site (including offsites).
- Responsible for variance reporting, cycle count compliance, and root-cause analysis.
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
- Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
