We’re seeking a Quality Control Supervisor who’s ready to be part of a company committed to formulating everyday success for every customer through innovative, reliable products used to adhere, seal, and protect at every level of the building envelope.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a highly skilled candidate to fill our Quality Control Supervisor position at our Norcross, GA Gaco plant. This person will be responsible for supervising various testing procedures in a laboratory environment for quality assurance. Sets day-to-day objectives, organizes workflow, provides guidance, and supports achievement of goals for team. Leverages prior experience to solve issues using latitude of existing guidelines, also recommending changes within specialization policies/procedures.

 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Manages the daily functions of the quality laboratory and coordinates activities of the quality control technicians.
  • Ensure work conducted by all technicians is quality focused and professional
  • Works with Quality Manager to encourage team to identify opportunities for improvement, drive continuous improvement, and implement quality systems throughout the company.
  • Tests, documents, and implements process improvements, and evaluates the effectiveness and benefits.
  • Provide training to production, research, or other personnel on all quality methods and equipment.
  • Independently collects and tracks quality and production data to identify variation in raw materials, finished goods, manufacturing processes, equipment calibrations, etc. (SPC, SQC), and interprets data, working cross-functionally to suggest changes as needed.
  • Adheres to the environmental, safety, and health policies and procedures, and suggests continuous improvement ideas for safety and health.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

 

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related field. Associates degree and 2 years of experience will be held as equivalent.
Required Work Experience: At least 5 years’ experience working in a quality lab testing environment with a polymer chemistry or rubber background

  • Gage R&R or method validation experience preferred.
  • 2 years' supervisory experience preferred.
  • Six Sigma or continuous process improvement experience desired.
  • Must have proven experience in developing, implementing, and managing ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems to ensure compliance, drive continual improvement, and ensure process control.
  • Polymer chemistry or rubber background.
  • SQC, SPC experience desired.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office suite.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, professional environment, with minimal supervision.
  • A self-starter with efficient time management abilities, able to multitask.
  • Work in a collaborative and team-oriented environment, with a positive attitude and adaptability.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical; must be at least 18 years old.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit test.
