ABOUT THE ROLE

The Quality Lab Technician performs incoming raw material testing and in-process testing for the manufacturing operation of Malarkey Roofing Products under supervision, ensuring that materials meet quality standards.

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

 

  • Audits manufacturing processes.
  • Performs chemical and physical property tests under supervision, including:
    • Asphalt – Softening point, penetration, flash point, viscosity, basic DSR, filler %.
    • Product – back coating, granular adhesion, tears, seal thickness, shingle color, shingle dissection, copper content.
    • Granule/Sand – Gradation analysis, copper content.
  • Inspects finished products and partners with manufacturing to ensure consistent adherence to quality standards.
  • Performs data entry on multiple platforms (SQC, Access, Excel).

 

 

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical field.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations, flexibility in work schedule, and the ability to work overtime.
  • Must be reliable and able to work in a team setting.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and remain calm in stressful situations.
