ABOUT THE ROLE
The VAP (Value-Added Products) Specialist is responsible for optimizing sales and revenue for value-added concrete products. This role focuses on generating new business opportunities for AMRIZE among current and new customer groups, as well as supporting the trained sales staff within the market area. Key deliverables include influencing decision-makers such as engineers and architects, driving the commercialization of new products, and implementing best practices across the applicator network.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Optimize sales and revenue for value-added products by identifying new market segments and implementing the TOP model.
- Influence the purchasing process by providing training and education on products to architects and engineers.
- Collaborate with sales, quality control, and operations teams to review contracts and propose tailored technical solutions.
- Support the development of technical documentation, training materials, and best practices for the applicator network.
- Lead efforts for the launch of new products within the local market, establishing engagement protocols for each potential segment.
- Design and deliver high-priority presentations to target clients, translating customer needs into custom value-added offers.
- Manage and execute the annual "Placer Day" calendar for the region, including seasonal content development and demonstrations.
- Develop monthly VAP forecasts by market area and track precision to ensure profit optimization.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Required Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
- Required Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Travel Requirements: Up to 60% travel required (20% outside of the immediate market area).
- Knowledge: Knowledge of construction products and a solid understanding of the competition and market opportunities.
Additional Requirements:
- Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills to build relationships internally and externally.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a business acumen to anticipate future trends.
- Ability to remain flexible and adjust to changing priorities to meet deadlines.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
