ABOUT THE ROLE
The Quality Systems Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's quality management systems (QMS) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company goals. This role is responsible for overseeing quality assurance activities across the organization, including internal audits, supplier management, corrective/preventive actions, and LEAN initiatives.
This position can be located at any Malarkey Roofing Production facility.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Develop, implement, and maintain QMS documentation, including policies, procedures, work instructions, and forms to ensure compliance with applicable standards and continuous improvement.
- Plan and conduct internal audits to assess conformance with QMS requirements, identify areas for improvement, and support audit readiness.
- Establish and manage a supplier evaluation and monitoring system to ensure the quality and reliability of external partners and vendors.
- Develop and deliver training programs to ensure organizational understanding and adherence to QMS standards and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records and documentation in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Lead LEAN initiatives across departments to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with IT and external vendors to implement, maintain, and optimize quality software systems.
- Manage the corrective and preventative action process to investigate issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventive measures.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- A bachelor’s degree in technical fields, such as Chemistry, Engineering, Statistics, or Business, is required.
- ASQ certification (CQE or CMQ/OE) is a plus.
- 5 years managing quality functions in high-speed, continuous, or multi-lane manufacturing environments, with measurable results.
- Strong background in quality control, quality management systems (QMS), auditing procedures, and applied statistics (basic and advanced).
- Proven track record of tracking, identifying, and implementing applicable code compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment within established policies, including authority to withhold materials or shipments when necessary.
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with vendors, contractors, plant staff, IT, engineering, and cross-functional teams.
