ABOUT THE ROLE
The Job Cost Intern is a key position that facilitates the Management & Estimating structures for the Foothills Construction group. The position will report directly to the Manager, Foothills Construction.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Primarily responsible for administering and control of project accounting on a continual basis while ensuring project accounting procedures are followed.
- Ensure communication between Management, Estimating, and Operations; validate estimating assumptions and perform Job Analysis – Estimated vs Actuals.
- Report job production performance to the Manager and act as a resource for Operations staff to determine job performance.
- Produce accurate and timely reports, maintain Daily Cost process & reports, and constantly strive to improve accuracy of information flow through education, careful attention to detail, and improvements to information processing.
- Prepare monthly revenue accruals, participate in the revenue recognition process, and assist with month end duties, as well as P2P duties as necessary.
- Bill customers accurately and in a timely fashion, allocate customer payments accurately, and complete timely follow-up’s with customers to ensure AR is collected in a suitable manner.
- Approve/enter time entry, ensure field hours and costs are appropriately allocated to correct jobs, and process SAP-P cards for field employees.
- Ensure proper job setup so that SAP transactions flow automatically and enter actual quantities by work item.
- Ensure costs are appropriately allocated and support overall job performance tracking and reporting.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Accounting degree/diploma or two years experience in a related field.
Required Work Experience: 2 years Job Costing experience would be an asset
Required Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office
Additional Requirements:
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills
- Strong computer skills
- Knowledge and experience in JD Edwards or People Soft an asset
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to work with tight deadlines and in a team environment
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
