ABOUT THE ROLE
The Income Tax Manager forms part of the North American Tax team and is located in Mississauga, Ontario. Reporting to the Head of Tax – Canada, this role includes leading and managing the Canadian quarterly and annual tax provisions, maintaining cross-border transfer pricing documentation for Canadian entities and managing the international taxation authority audit queries and supporting the income tax compliance team. This role also includes ensuring compliance with the company’s SOX controls over all tax processes.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Lead the quarterly and annual Canadian tax provisions in accordance with US GAAP, including ensuring proper tax note disclosures
- Ensuring the maintenance and documentation of internal controls, ensuring SOX compliance
- Collaborate with external auditors, responding to tax accounting inquiries and supporting audit requirements
- Manage all cross-border transactions impacting Canada for purposes of T106, NR4 and T1135 filings
- Maintain proper documentation of transfer pricing policies across all Canadian entities
- Support the income tax compliance function reviewing corporate tax returns as well as return to provisions, as required
- Manage the international taxation authority audit queries
- Identify process improvement opportunities within the tax team
- Stay up to date with new federal and provincial corporate tax legislation to implement required process changes to ensure compliance
- Perform tax research and prepare technical memoranda and documentation to support tax positions

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Education:
- Undergraduate degree required
- Professional accounting designation required (CPA)
- Master in Taxation (MTax) or CPA in-depth tax course completion or in progress
- Field of Study Preferred:
- Accounting, business, commerce
- Required Work Experience:
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience working in accounting and/or tax at a public accounting firm or large corporation
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate tax
- Required Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in MS office and advanced Excel as well as TaxPrep
- Ability to utilize global ERP and tax systems (e.g., SAP, SAP Analytics Cloud, OneSource Tax Provision)
- Experience with online tax research tools (e.g., Taxnet Pro)
- Excellent knowledge of Canadian corporate tax legislation
- Knowledge of US GAAP an asset
- Equally at ease with building strong professional relationships while delivering high-quality work independently
- Strong organizational skills with a problem-solving mindset
- Excellent oral and written communication
Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
